The National Year of Reading
In 2008 the National Year of Reading (NYR) was announced as a year-long celebration of reading, in all its forms. It aims were to increase awareness of the many values of reading ~ anything, anytime, anyplace ~ for children, families and adult learners alike. Though officially the NYR is now almost over, there are many events relating to it going on into 2009. The themes for 2008 are still relevant to children and we can support your efforts to consolidate or expand on work you may have already done.
